NORTHEAST SCORES TWICE BUT FALLS IN THRILLER WITH NO. 17 EAGLES SUNDAY
WESTFIELD, Ind. – The No. 16 Northeast Community College women’s soccer team was back in Westfield, Indiana Sunday for a battle with No. 17 Rock Valley College. The Hawks dropped the back-and-fourth affair by a final score of 3-2.

Northeast (0-2) jumped on the scoreboard first in the 24th-minute as Hailey Holbroook (Broomfield, Colo.) scored her first goal of the season with an assist from Amelia Bingley (Melbourne, Australia). The Eagles scored twice soon after before Emma Brilleman (Diepenveen, Netherlands) recorded the first goal of her career with the Hawks in the 60th-minute. Northeast had 18 shots compared to just 15 from Rock Valley, but the Eagles were able to take a late lead late in the ballgame during the 75th-minute.
The schedule will remain competitive for Northeast as they will compete against National Park College at 3 p.m. Saturday in Hot Springs, Arkansas before lining up against defending national champion No. 1 Northwest Mississippi Community College at 11 a.m. Monday, also in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Head Women's Soccer Coach Chad Miller on the contest Sunday:
"We had moments where we were really good and then moments when we were our worst enemy," Miller said. "Rock Valley played a great game an caused us some problems."
Miller on what he is looking for during the next week before hitting the field again on Saturday:
"The biggest need for us is consistency and hunger," Miller said. "We have to find a way to stay hungry in the game and not let up. The games only get tougher from here."
