ELMOSE SCORES FIVE GOALS SATURDAY FOR NO. 3 HAWKS IN MATCH WITH TIGERS
MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – The No. 3 Northeast Community College men’s soccer team hit the pitch Saturday against Marshalltown Community College after completing their bye week. The Hawks topped the Tigers by a final score of 10-0 in just 70 minutes, which marked the first time Northeast has taken advantage of the NJCAA’s new mercy rule.
MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – The No. 3 Northeast Community College men's soccer team hit the pitch Saturday against Marshalltown Community College after completing their bye week. The Hawks topped the Tigers by a final score of 10-0 in just 70 minutes, which marked the first time Northeast has taken advantage of the NJCAA's new mercy rule.
Northeast (11-2-1, 4-1-1 ICCAC) was led by Marius Elmose (Viby, Denmark) in scoring as the sophomore scored his first five goals of the season and tallied half of the 10 goals that the Hawks scored as a team in the showdown. Len Valekma (Leewarden, Netherlands) recorded his 12th goal of the year in the matchup, which leads all Northeast players, while Timo Todor-Kostic (Klagenfurt, Austria) found the back of the net for the first time in his collegiate career during the conference clash.

"It was a complete performance from everyone on the team," Coppolecchia said. "I was glad we had the chance to rotate players and see guys who haven't had many minutes this season step in, adapt to the system and make a real impact on the field."
Coppolecchia on looking ahead to Northwest Iowa next:
"For Wednesday, I want us to maintain the same focus and intensity from the first whistle to the last," Coppolecchia said. "It's always great to be back home and perform in front of our fans."
