NORTHEAST FALLS BY JUST ONE TO NO. 4 ELLSWORTH SATURDAY

IOWA FALLS, Iowa – The Northeast Community College men's basketball team faced No. 4 Ellsworth Community College Saturday in Iowa Falls, Iowa. The Hawks took the Panthers to the wire before falling by a final score of 88-87.

Northeast (8-10, 4-8 ICCAC) was propelled by their starters in the showdown as four of the five Hawks starters scored 15 or more points. Lochie Harvey (Yarrawonga, Australia), Johanes Piscikas (Lakeville, Minn.) and Ryan Huston (York, Neb.) all tallied 21 points in the contest while Scottie Johnson (Denton, Texas) had 15 points of his own.

In the final seconds of the ballgame, Huston buried a 3-pointer to cut the lead to one against the team at the top of the ICCAC standings and ranked No. 4 in the nation, but time ran out on Northeast.

Head Men's Basketball Josh Clark on the hard-fought battle against No. 4 Ellsworth:

"We had a chance at the end," Clark said. "That's all we can ask for. We played great team defense and got the looks we needed. Just came up a little short. Proud of the guys."

Clark on heading back home this week: 

"Looking forward to Iowa Lakes on Wednesday." Clark said. "They're a better team than their record shows."
