HOLLATZ DOMINANT FOR NORTHEAST IN CONFERENCE VICTORY OVER SOUTHWESTERN
CRESTON, Iowa – The Northeast Community College volleyball team headed to Creston, Iowa Thursday night for their conference opener against Southwestern Community College. The Hawks took a commanding victory by a final score of 3-0 for their first sweep of the young season.

Northeast (2-3) had it all working on the court as they took care of the Spartans by final set scores of 25-14, 25-9 and 25-18. Freshman Izabel Hollatz (Creston, Neb.) was in the action for the Hawks throughout the match as she recorded five blocks and five ace serves in what was her first ICCAC showdown at Northeast. Baylee Settje (Creston, Neb.) led the Hawks in kills with eight while Katie Borg (Wakefield, Neb.) had nine digs, bringing her total to 83 in just five contests this year.
In just two days, Northeast will play on their home court for the first time this season as they will host No. 1 Cowley County Community College at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.

Head Volleyball Coach Amanda Schultze on the big victory over Southwestern:
"The girls played well tonight, and we served tough throughout the match, which helped throw Southwestern out of system," Schultze said.
Schultze on her team hosting their home opener on Saturday:
"We are excited to get on our home court this weekend and play in front of our home crowd!" Schultze said.
