WILSON COMES UP BIG FOR HAWKS IN SWEEP OF TIGERS

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – The Northeast Community College volleyball team competed in a conference match Wednesday night against Marshalltown Community College in Marshalltown, Iowa. The Hawks swept the Tigers by a final score of 3-0 to move to 5-2 in conference play.

Northeast (19-12, 5-2 ICCAC) fell behind 24-21 in the first set but rallied all the way back to win Game 1 26-24 and never looked back. The Hawks dominated the second set 25-10 and then cruised to complete the sweep. Kaidence Wilson (North Loup, Neb.) was all over the floor for Northeast as the sophomore recorded three blocks and three ace serves in the showdown.

Head Volleyball Coach Amanda Schultze on the victory and moving forward to a pair of games on Saturday:

"It really comes down to us being mentally ready to go out there and play our game," Schultze said. "It took a bit to get us to that point tonight but thankfully we did. I hope we learned from the slow start tonight and are ready to go this weekend!"

UP NEXT:

The Hawks will participate in a triangular and will compete at 1 p.m. against Otero College and at 3 p.m. against North Platte Community College Saturday in North Platte, Nebraska.
