Northeast volleyball falls on the road in McCook

MCCOOK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College volleyball team competed in a triangular on Saturday, falling to Otero Junior College, 25-20, 25-20 and 25-17. The Hawks (4-15, 2-2 ICCAC) dropped the final match of the day to McCook Community College, 25-14, 25-20 and 25-22 in McCook, Neb.

In the loss to Otero, Rachel Ecklund (Overton, Neb.) tallied 12 kills, while Danielle Wadsworth (Wolbach, Neb.) and Lauran Kavan (Cedar Bluffs, Iowa) each had six. Edyn Sudbeck (Wynot, Neb.) recorded 28 assists and 10 digs, while Elizabeth Christensen (Stanton, Neb.) added 23 assists.

Against McCook, Emily Rasmussen (Homer, Neb.) pitched in seven kills, while Ecklund had 11 digs and six kills. Sudbeck tallied 20 assists and 12 digs and Wadsworth had 24 digs. Christensen chipped in 10 digs in the loss.

The Hawks jump back into ICCAC play to battle Hawkeye Community College at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Waterloo, Iowa.
