DMACC too much to handle for Northeast volleyball

BOONE, Iowa – The Northeast Community College volleyball team couldn't catch a break on Friday, falling to Des Moines Area Community College, 25-16, 25-11 and 25-20 in ICCAC action in Boone, Iowa.

The Hawks (3-12, 2-11 ICCAC) had a tough time mustering any offense as they tallied less than 20 points in each set.

Payton Weber (Alliance, Neb.), Carly Hirsch (Norfolk, Neb.) and Elizabeth Christensen (Stanton, Neb.) each had four kills. Jamie Bonifas (Blue Hill, Neb.) tallied 13 assists, while Alexis Kapales (Jonesboro, Ark.) chipped in 15 digs.

The Hawks continue their ICCAC road trip when they visit Kirkwood Community College at 12 p.m. tomorrow in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
