FIVE SCORE FOR NORTHEAST SATURDAY IN DOMINANT VICTORY OVER NO. 8 IOWA CENTRAL
NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College women’s soccer team held their conference opener against No. 8 Iowa Central Saturday afternoon at Norfolk Veterans Memorial Field in Norfolk. The Hawks took down the ranked Tritons by a final score of 6-0.

Northeast (2-6-1, 1-0 ICCAC) scored early and often in the match as Demitra McClure (Colorado Springs, Colo.), Hailey Holbrook (Broomfield, Colo.) twice, Emma Brilleman (Diepenveen, Netherlands), Amelia Bingley (Melbourne, Australia) and Malana Gurmendi (Boulder, Colo.) all found the back of the net throughout the afternoon against the highly-ranked Iowa Central squad.
The victory for the Hawks put them undefeated in conference play and they have set themselves up nicely in the ICCAC standings as Northeast will battle against the other two nationally-ranked teams in the ICCAC within the next week. The Hawks will take on No. 15 Hawkeye Community College on Saturday and No. 14 Iowa Lakes Community College on Wednesday, October 1 at home.

Head Women's Soccer Coach Chad Miller on his team's massive win over the ranked Tritons:
"It seemed like our girls made everything work well today," Miller said. "We kept our shape and our communication was really good. The small things we thought would make a difference are making huge differences."
Miller on another outstanding performance after the draw against NJCAA DI No. 5 Iowa Western on Wednesday:
"We had a solid game on Wednesday, so I was curious how today would go," Miller said. "Could we put together another solid game? Are we able to find that consistency? I feel our girls did that and showed we have found a rhythm. I couldn't be more proud of them."

The Hawks will hit the road and will compete against Western Iowa Tech Community College at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Sioux City, Iowa.
