NORTHEAST’S JONES NAMED NJCAA SECOND TEAM ALL-AMERICAN

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Northeast Community College Northeast Community College student-athlete Aaliyah Jones (Rapid City, S.D.) was named 2025-26 NJCAA DII Women's Basketball Second Team All-American, it was announced by the NJCAA.

Jones completed an incredible career with the Hawks during her sophomore season as she scored 19.5 points per game in 2025-26, which put her second in the entire ICCAC. She was also second in the conference in her shooting percentage from the free-throw line, shooting 82.2%. Jones scored 585 points this year, bringing her total at Northeast to 1,183, which is fourth puts her fourth all-time.

Northeast head women's basketball coach Matt Svehla couldn't be more proud of how Jones finished her time with the Hawks.

"Congratulations are in order for Aaliyah Jones," Svehla said. "The energy and pace that Aaliyah played at every night was so special. She could score at all three levels and finished her career as the fourth all-time leading scorer in our program's history. She had two great years here at Northeast."

Around the ICCAC, Jones joins Reggi Spotts (North Iowa Area Community College), Olivia Wren (Kirkwood Community College) and Lexi Fiscus (Central Community College) as student-athletes from Region 11 who were named All-American.

Jones is the first All-American for the Northeast women's basketball program since Ashley Hassett earned Third Team All-American honors at the conclusion of the 2021-22 season.

The Hawks finished 2025-26 with a record of 19-11 and qualified for the Region 11-B Championship Game.
