HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:
Head Women's Basketball Coach Matt Svehla on the afternoon against the Blackhawks:
"We couldn't ever get going, and I give Southeastern credit for playing well," Svehla said. "It was nice to see us make the plays at the end and have the shots go in when it was crunch time. We made some free throws at the end, got stops and got rebounds to secure the victory. With the playoffs starting in a week, we want to keep playing well to get ready for the postseason."
Svehla on what his sophomore group has meant to his over their last two seasons at Northeast:
"Great character people," Svehla said. "It's been a pleasure to coach them for two years. We are obviously going to miss all four of them. Aaliyah and Vilique have made huge contributions on the court, and Aaliyah leaving here fourth in scoring all-time is quite an accomplishment. You want to always get a win on a day that you recognize the sophomores, so I'm glad it finished the way that it did."
UP NEXT:
The Hawks will finish the regular season on the road against Iowa Western Community College at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
