ESTHERVILLE, Iowa – The Northeast Community College women’s basketball team traveled to Estherville, Iowa Wednesday night for their first conference contest on the road this season. The Hawks fell in the matchup by a final score of 65-43.

Northeast (6-3, 1-2 ICCAC) struggled to get the offense going in the showdown, but freshman Jaida Allen (Crofton, Neb.) was able to score a career-high 17 points against the Lakers. The Hawks shot better than Iowa Lakes from both the free-throw line and the three-point line but will now turn their attention to another road ballgame Saturday against Southeastern Community College in West Burlington, Iowa.

Head Women's Basketball Coach Matt Svehla on the night in Iowa and turning the page to Saturday:
"We had a rough night on both ends of the court," Svehla said. "Our execution was not clean, we shot it poorly and we were a step slow on the defensive end. We need to regroup and get ready for our next one."
