FALLIS HAS 13 POINTS AS HAWKS DROP TIGHT CLASH TO TROJANS SATURDAY

NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College women's basketball team hosted North Iowa Area Community College Saturday at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk for their final contest before the semester break. The Trojans took the showdown by a final score of 62-60.

Northeast (6-7, 3-2 ICCAC) was given a boost off the bench from Stevi Fallis (Pine Ridge, S.D.) who had 13 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals. The Hawks led by five points with 6:28 remaining in the matchup but fell behind late. Northeast had a chance to send the ballgame into overtime right at the horn, but the ball rimmed out of the hoop and NIACC snuck out of the game with the victory.

Head Women's Basketball Head Coach Matt Svehla on the afternoon:

"We battled back and took the lead in the fourth quarter, but we just didn't make enough plays down the stretch," Svehla said. "We made too many mistakes today and we need to clean that up. We had a great chance to tie the game, but the putback just rimmed out. We will head into the break and come back ready to battle in the second semester."

The Hawks will have the next two weeks off before taking on No. 1 Kirkwood Community College at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 6 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
