NORTHEAST SWEEPS CENTRAL AS SUCCESSFUL WEEK CONTINUES

COLUMBUS, Neb. – The Northeast Community College softball team swept Central Community College in a doubleheader Wednesday by scores of 7-4 and 14-4 in Columbus, Neb.

Alexis Folks (Arvada, Colo.) began her big day in Game 1 by batting a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs. Brianna Aguilera (Pierce, Neb.) launched her first home run of the season in the fifth inning and the Hawks tallied two more runs over the next two innings to take the victory.

Emilee Spitz (Columbus, Neb.) took the mound in her hometown to start Game 2 and was able to head back to Norfolk with the win. The Hawks had an offensive explosion totaling three runs in the second inning, three runs in the fifth inning and seven runs in the seventh inning to sweep the day.

UP NEXT

The Hawks will return home to square off with North Platte Community College for a doubleheader. The games are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. on Friday at Ta-Ha-Zouka Park in Norfolk.
