Valkema claiming the award marks the fourth-consecutive season that a Northeast men's soccer student-athlete has taken home the honor as Jeevan Purewal in 2022 and Edouard Nys in 2023 and 2024 both captured the award throughout the last three years.
Tyrell Giwa (London, England) was a force during the entirety of his freshman campaign as a defender as he helped lead the Hawks to 11 shutouts in 2025. Gabriel Rossman (Vitoria, Brazil) and Yosuke Shimizu (Kobe, Japan) both patrolled the midfield as they combined to score 13 points and were consistently around the ball.
Sophomore Hugo Munter (Roskilde, Denmark) made the most of his final year in a Northeast uniform as he started in 23 contests and anchored the Hawks on defense all season while Charly Wilkening (Schopfheim, Germany) came on late in the year as he started the final six matchups for Northeast and recorded three assists out of the midfield.
All six All-Region honorees for the Hawks have extended their season and will compete at the 2025 NJCAA DII Men's Soccer Championship in Wichita, Kansas from November 16-22.
