NO. 7 HAWKS MEN’S SOCCER SNAGS WIN OVER HAWKEYE BEHIND MALISKA’S BIG DAY

NORFOLK, Neb. – The No. 7 Northeast Community College men's soccer team returned to Norfolk Wednesday for a huge conference matchup against Hawkeye Community College. The Hawks came out on top in the showdown by a final score of 2-1.

The Hawks (12-3, 2-1 ICCAC) dominated possession of the ball for almost the entire first half but entered the halftime break down 1-0. The second half told a different story however, as two quick goals from the Northeast side and a fantastic defensive effort sealed the deal. Reagan Maliska (Glasnow, Scotland) made a couple of highlight-reel saves in net to propel the Hawks to victory.

Head men's soccer coach Adam Potter on how his team responded after halftime today:

"I absolutely loved the response from the boys after halftime," Potter said. "They stepped up and faced adversity head on today!" 

Potter on what this bunch of sophomores has meant to him:

"This group had meant everything to me," Potter said. "This group of men are brick layers for what this program will continue to grow be to. It never would be possible without the leadership and experience that they have brought to the table every day."

The Hawks will honor their sophomores for Sophomore Day after they battle Scott Community College at 11 a.m. Saturday at Veterans Memorial Field in Norfolk.
