HAWKS MEN’S SOCCER TAKES CARE OF ELGIN SATURDAY

NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College men's soccer team played in Chicago, Illinois for their second game of a three-game road trip, and the game played out a lot like the first contest. The Hawks took the game 5-0 over Elgin Community College to move to 4-0 on the season.

The game was bookended by two different players who scored their first collegiate goals as freshman Thomas Nielsen (Oestervraa, Denmark) scored in the fifth minute and freshman Aleix Girol (Torredembarra, Spain) scored in the 86^th minute. The 5-0 score marked the third game in a row that the Hawks obtained a clean sheet.

Head men's soccer coach Adam Potter on what he liked from his group today:

"We got the job done," Potter said. "Period. Win and move on. Less than 24 hours until we go again."

Potter on what he wants his teams mindset to be with another game right around the corner:

"Play with the end in sight," Potter said. "We need to run through the line. Tomorrow is a new day and a new final to be played."

It's a quick turnaround for Northeast as they will finish their Illinois trip at 12:30 p.m. tomorrow in Glen Ellyn, Illinois against College of DuPage.
