Anderson Roberts (St. Augustine, Trinidad) put the Hawks (1-2) on the scoreboard in the 35th-minute of the first half. Goalie Yahir Catalan (Schuyler, Neb.) held strong for the Hawks in the net, deflecting many shots that came his way.
In the second half, Hugo Santos (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) took a shot deep from the far side, which was deflected by a Central defender and trickled its way into the net to put the Hawks in the driver's seat the rest of the way.
The Hawks hit the road take on Casper College at 1 p.m. Friday in Casper, Wyo. Northeast will then face Laramie County Community College at 12 p.m. Saturday in Laramie, Wyo.
