JOHNSON STRONG AS HAWKS PICK UP SECOND-STRAIGHT VICTORY OVER COMETS SATURDAY

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Northeast Community College men's basketball team made the short trip to Sioux City, Iowa Saturday for a contest with Western Iowa Tech Community College. The Hawks took the matchup by a final score of 61-56.

Northeast (6-4, 2-2 ICCAC) picked up their second-straight victory in the matchup as they held on late against the Comets to move to 2-2 in conference play.

"We're learning how to win, and as a young team, that's important," Clark said. "We had great bench contributions tonight. Proud of the guys, especially Scottie Johnson. He controlled the boards and played his heart out. We're looking forward to getting back at home against a good team Wednesday!"

The Hawks will battle No. 24 Iowa Western Community College at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
