GARRETT’S DOUBLE-DOUBLE PROPELS NORTHEAST TO ROAD TRIUMPH OVER IOWA CENTRAL

FORT DODGE, Iowa – The Northeast Community College men's basketball team traveled to Fort Dodge, Iowa Saturday for a duel with Iowa Central Community College. The Hawks put together an all-around performance and cruised to an 87-77 victory.

Northeast (9-13, 4-10 ICCAC) was looking forward to the opportunity to compete with the Tritons again after falling 75-73 to Iowa Central at home back on January 10. The Tritons led 1-0 initially but the Hawks led the rest of the way in the matchup after a Kamari Moore (Norfolk, Neb.) 3-pointer put Northeast ahead 3-1. Vincent Garrett (Lincoln, Neb.) was everywhere for the Hawks as he recorded yet another double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Garrett, Jacob Martin (Omaha, Neb.), Moore, Luke Brown (Hobart, Australia) and Bryan Rolle (Nassau, Bahamas) all scored in double figures to not only secure the win but also to propel Northeast ahead of Iowa Central in the ICCAC standings.

Head Men's Basketball Coach Josh Clark on the showdown and taking a game from a conference opponent:

"The guys were motivated to get back out there against Iowa Central after losing a tough one earlier in the year," Clark said. "We've been shooting the ball with confidence and playing together as a team. We had great production from everyone tonight. Really proud of how they all played. Any win in our conference is a good win."

The Hawks will host Central Community College next at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
