FIVE TALLY DOUBLE FIGURES AS NORTHEAST TOPS MORNINGSIDE JV

NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College men's basketball team was back at home Thursday night at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk for a matchup with Morningside University JV. The Hawks triumphed by a final score of 104-83 to add their third victory of the season to their resume.

Northeast (3-1) had all five of their starters total 10 points or more in the battle as Vincent Garrett (Lincoln, Neb.) led the way with 23 points followed by Bryson Faines (Lincoln, Neb.) with 16 points, Ben Hammond (Norfolk Neb.) with 14 points, Amaire Perkins (Sanford, Fla.) with 13 points and Bryan Rolle (Nassau, Bahamas) with 12 points. The Hawks shot 58-percent from the field and 44-percent from the three-point line in the clash as they crossed the century mark in points for the first time this year.

HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:

Head Men's Basketball Coach Josh Clark on what led to the win tonight:

"We worked all week on two things," Clark said. "Rebounding and sharing the ball. Balanced scoring. That's what we got tonight. I was proud of the way we got the ball to the open man. We wore them down late in the game and rattled off a 29-11 run with six minutes to go in the game."

Clark on the upcoming trip to McCook this weekend:

"Tough one on Saturday," Clark said. "They're a hungry team looking for a win. We need to be ready for their quickness and their ability to shoot."

The Hawks will return to the road and will compete against McCook Community College at 3 p.m. Saturday in McCook, Nebraska.
