HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:
Head Baseball Coach Marcus Clapp on the adjustments his group needs to make after this weekend:
"We need to clean up our pitching," Clapp said. "They have to throw more consistent strikes. We gave up 12 free bases again. Anytime you give up 12 free bases to a team like that, you aren't going to win that ballgame. I thought we did some good things offensively. We'd score, but then we'd give it up. We can't maintain that. It's the little things that we have to clean up and do a better job of."
Clapp on conference play beginning Wednesday:
"I hopeful that we are ready to go," Clapp said. "The preseason is out of the way and now the fun begins. We just have to worry about ourselves and take care of our own business. If we do that, we'll be alright."
UP NEXT:
The Hawks will begin conference play against Des Moines Area Community College at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Boone, Iowa.
