REZAC DOMINANT ON THE MOUND IN HAWKS VICTORY OVER ELLSWORTH

IOWA FALLS, Iowa – The Northeast Community College baseball team traveled to Iowa Falls, Iowa Friday for a single game against Ellsworth Community College. The Hawks jumped all over the Panthers and took the showdown by a final score of 12-1.

Northeast (19-15, 5-6 ICCAC) gave the ball to Caden Rezac (Ogallala, Neb.) in the matchup and the freshman was phenomenal as he tossed seven innings, allowed just three hits and struck out 13 different Ellsworth batters. Carter Noakes (Dannebrog, Neb.) twice, Kye Privett (Papillion, Neb.) and Trenton Barry (Wahoo, Neb.) all doubled in the ballgame as the Hawks recorded 13 hits compared to just three from the Panthers. The two squads will meet back up again on Sunday to finish their series with a doubleheader in Iowa Falls, Iowa.

Head Baseball Coach Marcus Clapp on the performance from starting pitcher Caden Rezac Friday:

"I was really happy for Caden!" Clapp said. "He has that type of stuff and capability! He located his pitches and kept them off balance today."

Clapp on his offense today and the key to taking the series on Sunday:

"Offensively, we attacked today and had good approaches," Clapp said. "We just need to stay the course and be ready to go on Sunday."
