SEVEN NORTHEAST BASEBALL PLAYERS NAMED TO ALL-REGION TEAMS
AMES, Iowa – The Northeast Community College baseball team had seven players receive postseason awards, it was announced by the ICCAC Wednesday. Clay Beaumont (Tekamah, Neb.) and Gage Ingram (LaVista, Neb.) were named First Team All-Region, Kaden Young (Columbus, Neb.) and Harrison Taubert (Casper, Wyo.) were named Second Team All-Region while Taylor Gill (Orem, Utah), Derek Woolwine (Boulder, Colo.) and Cade Grevengoed (West Des Moines) were named Honorable Mention All-Region.

Beaumont's season was highlighted by a no-hitter that he tossed back on March 22 against Des Moines Area Community College. The lefty sophomore was 12th in the ICCAC in appearances with 16, tied for 16th in games started with nine starts, tied for 10th in the ICCAC with one complete game, 12th in the ICCAC with 55.1 innings pitched, 10th in the ICCAC in strikeouts with 58 and pitched 55.1 innings on the mound for the Hawks.
Ingram became the primary closer for Northeast in the middle of the season and was called upon to complete multi-inning saves on several occasions. The right-handed sophomore and University of Nebraska Omaha commit was second in the NJCAA and first in the ICCAC in appearances with 26, fourth in the ICCAC with six wins, fourth in the NJCAA and second in the ICCAC in saves with eight, 10th in the NJCAA and first in the ICCAC with a 2.24 ERA, ninth in the ICCAC in innings pitched with 60.1 and seventh in the ICCAC in strikeouts with 64.
Young put together a solid season for Northeast and played every single game that the Hawks competed in, which tied him for the most appearances in the ICCAC with 59 and put him tied for 10th in the NJCAA. The lefty sophomore had the second-most doubles in the ICCAC with 20, was tied for 18th in the ICCAC with 46 RBIs, tied for 11th in the ICCAC in walks with 38, placed 16th in the ICCAC with a .354 batting average and was 17th in the ICCAC with a .461 on-base percentage.
Taubert was named Honorable Mention All-Region last season and improved on that accomplishment during the 2023 campaign. The right-handed sophomore and University of Evansville commit also played in every Northeast contest, which tied him for the most appearances in the ICCAC and put him tied for 10th in the NJCAA. Taubert was 13th in the ICCAC in runs scored with 59, 10th in the ICCAC in hits with 67, was fifth in the NJCAA and led the ICCAC in triples with eight, tied for fifth in the ICCAC with 16 home runs, seventh in the ICCAC with 61 RBIs, tied for 10th in the ICCAC with 10 stolen bases, 10th in the ICCAC with a batting average of .364, 11th in the ICCAC with an on-base percentage of .479 and was second in the ICCAC with a slugging percentage of .734.
Gill earned the Honorable Mention All-Region distinction for the second year in a row during his sophomore season. The righty was tied for sixth in the ICCAC and 21st in the NJCAA with 58 appearances during the campaign, had the fourth-most at-bats in the ICCAC and was tied for 10th in the NJCAA with 214, tied for sixth in the ICCAC with 65 runs scored, tied for 12th in the ICCAC with 65 hits, tied for third in the ICCAC with five triples, was tied for 20th in the ICCAC in home runs with nine and was tied for 23rd and led the ICCAC in stolen bases with 32, which was four more than the nearest challenger.
Woolwine spent most of his freshman campaign as the designated hitter for the Hawks and quickly became a force in the lineup. The righty hit for a .353 batting average, clubbed five home runs, recorded 32 RBIs, scored 31 runs, tallied a .457 on-base percentage and a .569 slugging percentage in his first season at Northeast.
Grevengoed played all over the field for the Hawks before finding a home at shortstop towards the back half of the year. The righty was another Northeast player who ranked high in the conference in appearances as his 58 placed him for a tie for sixth in the ICCAC and tied for 21st in the NJCAA. Grevengoed was tied for 22nd in the ICCAC with 51 runs scored, tied for 14th in the ICCAC with 10 home runs, 22nd in the ICCAC with 44 RBIs, hit for a .314 batting average and stole nine bases.
