NO. 12 HAWKS STRUGGLE ON THE MOUND IN TWO LOSSES TO NO. 6 IOWA CENTRAL
NORFOLK, Neb. – The No. 12 Northeast Community College baseball team returned home Tuesday to compete with No. 6 Iowa Central Community College in an ICCAC matchup. The Hawks had a hard time putting together clean innings as they fell in Game 1 by a final score of 11-6 and dropped Game 2 by a final score of 22-15.

NORFOLK, Neb. – The No. 12 Northeast Community College baseball team returned home Tuesday to compete with No. 6 Iowa Central Community College in an ICCAC matchup. The Hawks had a hard time putting together clean innings as they fell in Game 1 by a final score of 11-6 and dropped Game 2 by a final score of 22-15.
The Hawks (29-8, 9-6 ICCAC) tallied 10 hits in Game 1 and 15 hits in Game 2 on a day that saw all four seasons appear at different times at Norfolk Veterans Memorial Baseball Field. Maxim Fullerton (Steamboat Springs, Colo.) launched his third home run of the season on a ball that was crushed so hard that it hit a house across the street in Game 2.

HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:
Head baseball coach Marcus Clapp's overall thoughts on today's games:
"Bad," Clapp said. "We're not very good right now. Just bad on the mound right now."
Clapp's thoughts on his team performing well at the plate in both games:
"Yeah, but when you get down 5-0 and 9-0 it's tough," Clapp said. "It's tough to hit when you're down. Always have to fight back. We can't do anything offensively because all we can do is try to get base runners to score runs. We have to stick with our approach, but it's just tough right now."
What Clapp wants to see before Friday's matchup with Iowa Lakes Community College:
"Quit hitting people, quit walking people, quit falling behind in the count," Clapp said. "That's it."
UP NEXT:
The Hawks will travel to Iowa Lakes Community College for Friday/Saturday series this weekend. The doubleheader on Friday is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m in Estherville, Iowa.
