GRANLUND STRONG AS HAWKS FINISH FOURTH IN LINCOLN

LINCOLN, Neb.  – The Northeast Community College men's golf team hit the road for their second tournament of the fall season at Highlands Golf Club in Lincoln, Nebraska on Monday and Tuesday. The Hawks finished fourth in the two-day event.

Northeast brought a slightly different group to this tournament as Ludvig Granlund (Stockholm, Sweden), Gunther Soltvedt (Eagle, Colo.), Tanner Walling (Wayne, Neb.), Gage Burns (Creighton, Neb.) and Rupert Hurford (Paris, France) rounded out the squad. The group rallied during the final day to complete a solid performance and climb the leaderboard.

Head Men's Golf Ty Heimes on the two days:

"It was a good tournament for our guys," Heimes said. "I felt like we played pretty good the first 36 holes, but the scores just didn't really show it. The group is really competitive and wanted to move up the leaderboard in the final 18, which they did."

Heimes on getting prepared for the next event:

"We have a quick turnaround as we play on Monday and Tuesday," Heimes said. "We need to stay sharp and just keep getting better each day."

The Hawks will head to the Siouxland Invitational starting at 9 a.m. Monday at The Ridge Golf Club in Orange City, Iowa.
